An Overview of the E-learning and Online Component of the Training
The e-learning contained here includes content to help you prepare if you have registered for the course early, and would like to get started and/or to review what you covered in the 12 days of workshops.
Of the 3 lessons, Professional Coaching is the only one is that is ‘REQUIRED’. This one also includes quizzes to support your learning. This e-learning can be taken at any time in the program but must be completed prior to your first online mentoring experience. Your mentoring commences after the 12 workshop days have completed.
The Introduction to Coaching is useful prior to attend any workshops, to help understand the connection between Coaching and NLP as a methodology that Coaches use. Content from that module is also covered in the first workshop day.
The final lesson, Additional Practice, Resources and Readings contain information about the Online Coaching Practice Group and other goodies to help you to integrate your learning, following the in-person workshops.
The NLP Practitioner Home Study
As part of the course, you will also need to go to the NLP Practitioner E-learning and download the NLP Practitioner Paper. This is a requirement of the course. If you wish to receive your ABNLP NLP Practitioner Certificate, you will also need to access the recordings there. You have been granted access to this already, and can access it from the Course menu (top left) or by clicking here.
If you are attending the program as an intensive (delivered in a single block), please do your best to go through these resources in the lead-up, as this will help you to manage the large volume of new information in the intensive format.
The Videos for NLP are NOT a direct recording of the course you will be attending, but a longer NLP Practitioner Program delivered by another (awesome) trainer. So, it will not feel like a total repeat in person. It is more than you have two descriptions of NLP. The Video recordings by Richard Bolstad cover more than we can cover in 10 days. The audio quality is not the easiest, unfortunately, so other audio files are provided if you find this frustrating. You are free to choose which ones to access to support you to prepare for the intensive training and to complete the NLP Practitioner Paper.
The Business of Coaching Program is not a requirement but is strongly recommended if you intend to establish your own professional coaching practice as a self-employed Coach. You can access this at any time from the Courses menu item, or go to it here. You do not need to wait until the end of the course to start this, you can access this whenever you choose. When people complete this, they can also request a 1-hour individual mentoring session with the Trainer on building a Coaching-based business.
Your access to all of these resources is live for 12 months.
Your quiz results will be emailed both to you and the course trainer as you complete the quiz.
Live Contact Online, following your 12 Workshop Days
After the 12 Workshop Days, you are required to attend:
- 2 x 2 hour online Coaching Practice Group (held monthly)
- 2 x 3.5 hour online Group Coach Mentoring
- 2 x 1.5 hour online Individual Coach Mentoring
This is all scheduled for your program to occur over the space of 3 months minimum. You may take longer, to a maximum of 6 months. Anything longer than this will need to be negotiated as an extension.
Please check your Welcome Email for the exact dates for your Program and the final date for completion of all the course requirements.
Note that the hours of online contact AND your eLearning for ‘Professional Coaching’ are included as ‘Coach Specific Training’ and cannot be missed if you wish to complete the ICF certificate that is currently under application.
After you have completed this, you are asked to submit a 20-minute recording of a coaching session with someone who is not a fellow student, or a Coach. You will receive written feedback on this from your Trainer, that will support your decision whether or not to use the recording in an ICF application for an Accredited Coach Credential.
In total, you will receive feedback in writing from 5 observed coaching sessions during this program, as per the ICF guidelines for a coach qualification.
